Gather at Venta El Perejil.
Then at 11.00 drive to the outskirts of Casares where there is a huge car park with wonderful views all the way to Gibraltar. Coffee etc from mobile caterer.
From here we drive to a beauty spot just outside Gaucin on the road to Olvera for a cava stop.
Then we continue to the center of Olvera where the local Ayuntamiento have organised parking for up to 30 cars on the street in front of of our lunch restaurant Taxara.
After lunch those wishing to lesson the damage from a hearty lunch can walk (climb) up the park rock for a fabulous view of the surrounding countryside and the magnificent Church and castle guarding the town for 800 years. For those feeling very hit we strongly recommend walking up to church and the town’s museum and for misely €2 climb up to the castle turrets for a stunning view of the surrounding olive farms.
At 18.00 we depart for our hotel the Mesón Fuente del Pino where we will enjoy a wonderful 4 course meal with selected wines. During dinner Ian and I will be presenting the Jaguar prize and a magnum of cava for the best presented Jaguar.
At around 10.30 after a hearty breakfast we drive to La Almazara olíve oil factory for tour of the process to produce quality olive oil and the chance to sample a few and possibly purchase a few to take home.
Then on the way back to the coast we can have a beautiful lunch at La Pesquera right on the San Pedro promenade which is right next-door to large car park. This optional.
